Meet the Director

Tyler McEwen

Tyler is a Costs Lawyer experienced in dealing with all aspects of legal costs on behalf of many leading practices. He has expertise in the costs management process and detailed assessment procedure and has been involved in all spheres of legal costs, including high profile and international cases involving costs in excess of £20m.

Tyler has dealt with the legal costs in cases in the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court in a range of practices areas, from large commercial litigation to public international law and several group litigations.

He also spent two years as a Legal Project Manager at global law firm, DLA Piper, working with its UK, US, Dubai, Netherlands and Italy offices to manage large, complex litigation and arbitration projects, including a nine-figure construction arbitration and a banking group litigation concerning several hundred claimants.

Tyler was awarded the Association of Costs Lawyers Cup by Senior Costs Judge, Master Gordon-Saker.

Cases

Instructed to act as a costs lawyer on behalf of 280 claimants in a successful group action against a Cypriot property developer.
Involved in detailed assessment proceedings arising from claims brought by 1,826 Zambian citizens who alleged suffering as a result of toxic discharges from one of the world’s largest copper mines.
Involved in detailed assessment proceedings arising from claims brought by Iraqi civilians following a group action against the British Government involving allegations of assault, unlawful detention and unlawful killings by British soldiers.
Acted in detailed assessment proceedings in a complex EU trademark dispute that concerned entities in nine different EU countries, over 20 years of evidence and 44 issues for the court to consider.
Acted on behalf of the claimants in detailed assessment proceedings in a medical negligence group litigation against Ian Paterson and Spire Healthcare for performing negligent breast surgery.
